daily diminishing (day 108)

I have always enjoyed making things, and since childhood have been engaged in this as a regular practice in my life. Growing up, the women in my family (mom, sister, aunts, cousins, grandmothers) got together to learn and then to make a variety of different crafts. My aunts and mom all at one point or another ran craft-based businesses. The men in my family also engaged in making things. My father started and ran his own successful business as an auto rebuilder. Entrepreneurship has always excited me — to make something from nothing and to support yourself through doing that. For a while, I made these skirts.
