daily diminishing (day 213)

When I first moved to New England I was drawn to the old graveyards around the region. I had seen, as a child, an episode of Zoom that gave instructions on how to make a gravestone rubbing. I found an old supplier of stone rubbing supplies and began making my own rubbings of large ancient stones. I collected books about the history and symbolism associated with gravestones. The graveyards are peaceful places, filled with green grass, trees, and many many stones.
