daily diminishing (day 250)

I made this at school the week before Christmas break, around second grade. I can remember the excitement in those years in the week leading up to holidays, especially Christmas. Doing this type of busy work – coloring or work pages – was about all that we could truly focus on.  That feeling of thrilling excitement was a common one in childhood, brought on by expectation of gifts or a trip to a special place.  I sometimes do still experience that type of excitement that makes me giddy, but less often.  I wonder if, as children, we are more capable of feeling it.
