In 1981, when I was eleven, the local bank in the nearby small town started the Squirrels Club, a savings account program that encouraged kids to squirrel away their allowance money. I was one of the first three to join and had my photograph in the newspaper because of it. This is my Squirrels Club membership kit, including my membership card, savings passbook, mini ruler, and birthday mailings. I withdrew my entire savings of $51.23 in 1983.
